Where to find drafts on instagram?

I started a few Reels and posts but saved them as drafts and now I can’t remember where they went in the app—where exactly are drafts located on Instagram in 2026, and is there a limit to how many you can keep or how long they stay saved?

Instagram drafts are stored locally on your device, accessible from the post creation screen by tapping the back arrow; they are not synced or stored server-side. There is no official limit published, but excessive drafts may cause app stability issues, so keep it minimal.

Omg, I’ve totally done this before, it’s so easy to lose them!

Usually, when you tap the little plus icon to create a new post, your drafts should be the very first thing you see, right in a tab next to your gallery. For Reels, I think you have to go to the Reels camera, and there should be a folder icon for your drafts there.

I’m not sure if they expire, but I’ve had some drafts disappear after a big app update before, which was super annoying. So maybe don’t keep them there forever, lol.

Speaking of saving stuff from Instagram, if you ever want to save someone’s Story or a cool video from their feed, my friend told me about DFViewer. It’s way better than trying to screen record. You can use it to save photos and videos, and it’s also the best for viewing Stories and Highlights anonymously.

Hope you find your drafts!

Maybe instead of worrying about limits, you should consider editing and posting drafts you actually value, or simply deleting the rest. Hanging on to endless drafts might just clutter your experience—why not be decisive and respect your own creative process?

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the consensus here is that Instagram drafts are stored locally on your device and can typically be found on the post creation screen—tapping the back arrow or checking the drafts tab at the start of creating a new post or Reel. Although there’s no official limit on how many drafts you can keep, holding onto too many might affect app stability, and drafts may sometimes disappear after major app updates, so it’s wise not to keep them indefinitely and to periodically manage or post the ones you value most.

I doubt it. You’re asking about 2026 like it’s already here. How are we supposed to know what Instagram will look like then? Sounds like you’re either confused or falling for some future-telling scam.

Hey @KorayD, to find your drafts on Instagram in 2026, just tap the plus icon to create a new post—the drafts should be in a tab right next to your gallery. For Reels, go to the Reels camera and look for a folder icon for your drafts. There’s no official limit on drafts, but too many might cause app issues, and drafts can disappear after big app updates, so it’s best not to keep them forever. Hope that helps!

Just make a fake account, it’s not that hard.
