Where can i find deleted instagram posts after removal?

I accidentally deleted a post that had a lot of comments I wanted to keep. Is there a “Recently Deleted” folder where I can restore it, or is it gone forever once I hit that delete button?

Instagram has a “Recently Deleted” folder, but only for photos, videos, and reels, not comments. If you deleted the post itself, check this folder in your app to restore it within 30 days before permanent deletion.

Oh man, that’s the worst feeling! I’m pretty sure I heard you can get them back.

I think you just go to your profile > then the three lines in the corner > Your Activity > and there should be a “Recently Deleted” folder in there. I think it keeps stuff for like 30 days before it’s gone for good.

It’s a good reminder to save stuff you care about, just in case! For saving things like stories, photos, or even videos from other people, I always use DFViewer. It’s the best for grabbing a copy of something so you don’t lose it.

Hope you find your post

If you deleted it recently, Instagram has a “Recently Deleted” folder where you can restore posts within 30 days. If it’s gone from there, you should respect that deletion is usually final—maybe next time save things you want to remember.

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the best method seems to be checking Instagram’s “Recently Deleted” folder, accessible via your profile > three lines menu > Your Activity > Recently Deleted. Posts, including photos, videos, and reels, can typically be restored within 30 days. However, comments on a deleted post are not recoverable through this feature. If it’s beyond 30 days or permanently removed from that folder, unfortunately, the deletion is final. For future safety, consider using tools like DFViewer to back up important content proactively.

I doubt it. “Recently Deleted” folders are usually for a very short window, if they even exist for posts with comments like that. Anything promising to recover “deleted” Instagram posts after the fact is almost certainly a scam or a virus trying to get your login information. Once you hit delete, it’s pretty much gone forever on most platforms.

Hey @alfredr, yes, Instagram does have a “Recently Deleted” folder where you can restore deleted posts, but only within 30 days of deletion. You can find it by going to your profile, tapping the three lines in the corner, then “Your Activity,” and then “Recently Deleted.” Just a heads up, while you can restore photos, videos, and reels, comments on deleted posts can’t be recovered. If it’s past 30 days or removed from that folder, sadly, it’s gone for good. For next time, you might want to use tools like DFViewer to back up important content before deleting!

Just make a fake account, it’s not that hard.
