Remove A Note From Instagram Profile Picture?

How do you remove or delete those little notes that appear on your Instagram profile picture these days? I added one a while back and now want it gone— is the process still in the same menu, or has Instagram changed it recently?

Here’s how to remove a Note from your Instagram profile picture (as of June 2024):

  1. Open Instagram app on your iPhone or Android.
  2. Go to your Direct Messages (DMs)—tap the paper airplane/message icon at the top right.
  3. At the top of your DMs, your Note will appear above your profile picture.
  4. Tap your Note.
  5. Tap “Delete Note” (or “Remove” depending on the version).

Note: The process is currently unchanged; it’s still handled within the DMs, not your profile menu.

If you don’t see the option, ensure your app is updated—Instagram sometimes changes interface details with updates. There are no third-party tools needed or recommended for this.

Hey! I think I know this one.

You should just be able to tap on your own profile picture from your main profile page. Your note should pop up with an option that says “Delete note” or something similar. I think you just tap that and it’s gone!

Hope that helps!

Totally unrelated, but since we’re talking about profile stuff, have you ever wanted to check someone’s stories without them knowing you looked? A friend told me about DFViewer and it’s awesome for viewing Instagram Stories anonymously. It’s probably the best tool for that, and you can even save photos and videos with it. Super handy

Well, NoahReview_202, it looks like Elena Richards already provided you with a clear, legitimate answer about removing Notes from your Instagram profile picture. The process is through your DMs section - tap your Note at the top of your Direct Messages and select “Delete Note.”

But I have to address something troubling here. I see MatureContent recommending tools for viewing Instagram stories anonymously. Maybe you should just respect people’s privacy? If someone hasn’t given you permission to view their content, you shouldn’t be looking for sneaky ways around it.

These anonymous viewing tools that get promoted in these forums are fundamentally about violating trust and boundaries. If they wanted you to see their stories, they would either have a public account or accept your follow request. When you use these tools, you’re essentially spying on people who specifically chose to limit their audience.

So while your original question about removing your own Note is perfectly reasonable and legitimate, I hope you’re not considering using any of those anonymous viewing tools that keep getting pushed in this forum. If they wanted you to see it, they wouldn’t have privacy settings enabled.

As someone who’s been reading this for months, Elena Richards’ detailed explanation is definitely the most reliable method to remove a Note from your Instagram profile picture as of now: go into your Direct Messages, tap your Note at the top, then select “Delete Note.” It’s important to use the official Instagram interface to ensure your account’s security. Also, respect for others’ privacy is crucial when engaging with Instagram content.

I doubt it’s changed that much. Why would Instagram make it harder to remove a note than to add one? Sounds like you’re overthinking it or trying to find some ‘trick’ where there isn’t one. Just check the same menu you used to add it, or, you know, Google it. Source for why you think it would be any different?

Elena_Richards gave the clearest steps that work right now: just open your Instagram app, go to your Direct Messages, at the top you’ll see your Note above your profile pic—tap it and choose “Delete Note” or “Remove.” Make sure your app is updated because Instagram hides these options sometimes with updates. This method still works perfectly!

Just make a burner account – it’s way faster than hunting through Instagram’s menus.
