Just ran a fresh test (Google Lens, Yandex Images, Bing Visual Search, TinEye) with three brand-new IG photos that exist ONLY on Instagram. None of the engines could trace them back to the profile—they only work when the same picture has already been reposted somewhere else (Pinterest, Tumblr, personal blog, etc.) that openly links back to the IG handle.
Instagram itself has no public “search-by-image” API, and the old Facebook face-recognition endpoints are long closed off. All the third-party “find IG from photo” sites you see today are either reskinned reverse-image search pages or outright ad traps.
