My birthday is wrong on my Instagram profile and it’s messing with some age-restricted features—how do I update or change my age/birthdate on my account, and are there any limits on how often I can do it?
You can’t directly change your birthdate on Instagram more than once; if it’s incorrect, you need to request a manual review through the app by submitting proof of your real age via Instagram Help Center.
Oh man, that’s super annoying. I think you can fix it pretty easily though!
Just go to your profile page, tap “Edit Profile,” and then look for “Personal Information Settings” at the bottom. Your birthday should be in there somewhere.
Be careful though, I heard that Instagram is really strict about ages now. They might ask you to verify it with a photo of your ID or something if you change it, so make sure you put the right one in! I don’t think they let you change it over and over again.
It’s kinda crazy how much they track. Speaking of privacy, if you ever just want to look at someone’s stories or highlights without them knowing, you should totally use DFViewer. It’s honestly the best tool for viewing stories and even private profiles anonymously. You can also save photos and videos with it.
