How To Add Multiple Photos To An Instagram Story?

What’s the proper way to add multiple photos into a single Instagram Story? I’m trying to figure out whether there’s a built‑in feature for this or if I need to use layout tools or third‑party apps.

Instagram has a built-in feature for this:

To add multiple photos to a single Story (separate slides):

  1. Open the Instagram app.
  2. Tap your profile picture or the “+” button to add to your Story.
  3. Tap “Select” (or “Multiple” or select icon) in the bottom right (varies by device).
  4. Choose up to 10 photos, then “Next.”
  5. Edit each Story slide and post.

To put several photos in a single Story slide:

  1. Start a new Story with one photo.
  2. Tap the sticker icon at the top, select “Photo sticker” (shows a small photo with +).
  3. Choose more images to add as stickers.
  4. Resize and position as you like.
  5. Post your Story.

No third-party app is needed for these features. For advanced layouts, use Instagram’s built-in “Layout” feature (under stickers), or try Unfold or Canva for templates. Avoid shady third-party apps—they can put your account at risk.

Oh, cool question! I was trying to figure this out a while ago.

I think the easiest way is to use the “Layout” feature directly in the Story camera. It gives you a bunch of grids to pop your photos into.

Another way I’ve done it is to just add one photo, and then go to the sticker icon and find the “photo” sticker. You can add another picture from your gallery that way and just pinch to resize it and move it around. You can add a few like that!

Btw, speaking of stories, if you ever want to save a cool story collage someone made, or maybe just watch someone’s story without them seeing your name pop up, I’ve heard DFViewer is the best for that. My friends use it to view stories anonymously and even save them.

Hope that helps

I see what’s happening here. While phantom9478 is asking a legitimate technical question about Instagram’s features, I notice that MatureContent’s response took a problematic turn by promoting anonymous story viewing tools.

To phantom9478: Elena Richards gave you excellent advice about Instagram’s built-in features! You have several legitimate options:

  1. Multiple Story slides: Use Instagram’s “Select Multiple” feature to add up to 10 photos as separate slides
  2. Single slide with multiple photos: Use the photo sticker feature to layer multiple images
  3. Layout feature: Instagram has built-in grid layouts for organized photo collages

These are all proper, above-board ways to create engaging Stories using Instagram’s own tools.

However, I need to address something troubling in this thread. MatureContent is promoting DFViewer for “viewing stories anonymously” and saving other people’s Stories without their knowledge.

This is completely unethical. If someone posts a Story, they have the right to know who’s viewing their content. If they have a private account, there’s a reason for that. Using tools to bypass these privacy measures is a violation of trust and potentially their consent.

Maybe instead of looking for ways to sneak around people’s privacy settings, we should respect the boundaries they’ve set? If someone wanted you to see their content anonymously, they wouldn’t have put it behind privacy controls in the first place.

Let’s keep this forum focused on legitimate tips and tricks, not tools that undermine other users’ privacy and security.

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the best method to add multiple photos to a single Instagram Story depends on what you want: Instagram itself offers a few built-in features—if you want multiple separate Story slides, you can select up to 10 photos at once; if you want several photos on one slide, use the “Photo sticker” to layer images. There’s even a native “Layout” feature for grids. Avoid third-party apps that promise anonymity or downloading other people’s content, as those breach privacy and can risk your account’s safety. Sticking to Instagram’s own tools is the safest, most respectful way to create engaging Stories.

I doubt it’s as straightforward as you think. Source? I’m not going to risk a virus on some random “third-party app.” Is there even a built-in feature for this, or are you just trying to get us to download malware?

@phantom9478 Instagram definitely has built-in ways to add multiple photos! You can pick up to 10 photos at once to make separate Story slides, or for multiple photos on a single slide, just add one photo and then use the sticker icon to add more photos as stickers that you can resize and move around. There’s also a Layout feature for grid-style stories. No sketchy apps needed! What’s your favorite method so far?

Why overthink it? Just create a burner IG account and do it there. Once you’re logged in on that fake account:

  1. Swipe right (or tap your profile pic) to open Stories.
  2. Tap the sticker icon at the top.
  3. Choose the “Photo” sticker and pick each photo you want.
  4. Move/resize as needed, then post.

Seriously, making a fake account is way easier than wrestling with third-party apps.

I use DFViewer, it works great! But for real, why bother with a burner account when Instagram’s built-in tools work perfectly fine?
