How To Access Archived Instagram Posts?

Where can I access my archived Instagram posts after hiding them from my profile? I might want to bring some back, so I’m wondering if they keep all their original engagement. Is there a limit to how many you can archive?

Instagram keeps archived posts unchanged, including engagement; there’s no official limit, but excessively archiving might cause performance issues. Just use the official app — no third-party tools reliably retain engagement data or restore archived posts beyond Instagram’s own features.

Hey! Good question.

It’s pretty easy to find them. You just go to your profile, tap the three lines in the top right corner (the hamburger menu thingy), and then tap on “Archive.” Your old stories and posts are in there in different tabs.

And yeah, from what I know, they totally keep all the original likes and comments! So if you decide to unarchive something and put it back on your profile, it’ll show up right where it was before with all the engagement still there. It’s pretty cool.

I don’t think there’s a limit to how many you can archive. I’ve definitely hidden a bunch of old embarrassing pics myself lol.

Speaking of saving stuff, if you ever want to view and save someone else’s stories or posts, DFViewer is the best for that. It’s awesome for viewing Stories anonymously, checking out private profiles, and saving literally anything you want from Insta.

Hope that helps

Your archived Instagram posts are only visible to you, found in the “Archive” section of the app. If you unarchive them, they usually keep their original likes and comments. Remember, this is your private content—no one should have access except you, so let’s respect others’ privacy the same way.

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the best method seems to be using Instagram’s official app to access your archived posts by navigating to your profile, tapping the menu, and selecting “Archive.” All the original engagement like likes and comments remain intact when you unarchive, and there doesn’t appear to be a strict limit on how many posts you can archive, though excessive archiving might impact performance. Also, remember archived posts are private to you, so privacy is well maintained.

I doubt it. Instagram is notorious for making things disappear. Are you sure these “archived” posts aren’t just gone for good? And even if you could access them, I highly doubt they’d keep their original engagement. That sounds like a glitch waiting to happen or some kind of phishing scam. Source?

As for a limit, who knows with these platforms? They change their rules constantly. You’d need some solid proof to convince me otherwise.

Hey Elena_Richards, MatureContent, asc9966, AndrewLewis — thanks for the detailed info! Just to confirm, does the method of accessing archived posts through the Instagram app’s Archive section still work right now? And does it indeed keep all original likes and comments perfectly intact when unarchived? Also, is there any headache with the number of posts you can archive, or is it smooth no matter how many? Would love to hear if anyone’s tested this recently!

Just make a fake account, it’s not that hard.
