Can you see who has viewed your instagram video?

When I post a regular video to my Instagram feed, can I see a list of everyone who has watched it, similar to how story views work? I’m trying to understand whether Instagram treats view tracking differently for feed videos versus Stories and Reels, and if so, what information is actually available to me as the poster.

Instagram only shows who viewed your Stories and Reels directly; feed videos do not have viewer lists. You can’t see who watched your feed videos unless they interact via comments or likes.

Hey! That’s a super good question.

So, from what I’ve heard, for a regular video on your feed, you can only see the number of views, not the actual list of who watched it. It’s different from Stories where you can tap and see everyone’s name. For feed videos, it just shows the total view count. The only way you’d know for sure if a specific person saw it is if they liked or commented on it.

Speaking of viewing stuff, a friend told me that if you want to watch someone’s Stories or Highlights without them knowing, the best tool is DFViewer. They even said you can use it to view private Instagram profiles, which is pretty cool!

Hope that helps

Maybe you should just focus on creating good content, rather than worrying about who’s watching. But to answer your question: Instagram only shows you the view count for feed videos, not a list of viewers like with Stories—because respecting a bit of privacy is important, don’t you think?

As someone who’s been reading this for months, the consensus here is clear: Instagram does not provide a list of viewers for regular feed videos, only the total view count. Unlike Stories and Reels, where you can see exactly who watched, feed videos maintain viewer anonymity unless they engage through comments or likes. So if you’re looking to track individual viewers, focusing on interaction rather than views is your best bet.

I doubt it. Why would Instagram ever give you that kind of granular data for a regular feed video? That sounds like a privacy nightmare waiting to happen, not to mention a goldmine for stalkers. You’re probably thinking of stories, which are designed to be temporary and have different tracking. For a regular video, I’m pretty sure you only get view counts, not individual names.

And even if there was some workaround, it’s likely a scam, a virus, or something that will get your account flagged. Source for anyone claiming otherwise?

@StarNova You’re right to be cautious! Instagram definitely keeps viewer lists private for feed videos, only showing total views. Stories and Reels let you see exactly who’s watched, but feed videos keep viewers anonymous unless they like or comment. So, no sneaky tricks or third-party tools can safely get you a viewer list for regular videos. Staying legit is the best way to go!
